Qualification:

Certification in Refractive Surgery.
Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Fellowship in Refractive Eye Surgery.
Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Experience:

Mr Sumith Perera is a fully accredited specialist laser eye surgeon and he is one of only 54 surgeons in the UK and Ireland who have attained the Royal College of ophthalmologists "Certification in Refractive Surgery" qualification in laser eye surgery.

Mr Sumith Perera has been qualified as a doctor for over 25 years and practices as an Associate Specialist in Ophthalmology within Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust. He is an extremely experienced refractive surgeon having performed over 14,000 laser eye surgery treatments in the last ten years. He has also performed a wide range of eye surgery procedures at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.

Mr Perera has published many scientific papers, some of which have been included in the prestigious Royal College of Ophthalmologists Journal "Eye" and he has even presented his work at their Annual Congresses. Due to his reputation in the field of refractive surgery, Ultralase invited Mr Perera to take a seat on their Medical Advisory Committee which is responsible for ensuring clinical standards within company.
