Ultralase opened in 1991 and started out as a single clinic in a hospital in Cheshire. Due to our success our clinic numbers grew to where we are today with 30 other clinics throughout the United Kingdom. Our aim at Ultralase is to transform your life through enhancing your vision and this is something all our medical team strive to make a reality.
We believe that patient care is of the upmost importance and this is evident in the level of service we offer all of our patients. Ultralase is different from other laser eye surgery centres in that we only offer Intralase Lasik. Intralase is different to standard Lasik in that the flap which is required during the laser procedure is made using a laser as opposed to a surgical blade. At Ultralase our aim is to deliver the safest and most accurate laser eye surgery possible and Intralase laser eye surgery has been proven to be the best in both these regards.
At Ultralase we have treated over a 100,000 patients and we offer all refractive surgery procedures. If you prescription falls beyond the range of Lasik or Lasek, then we will discuss with you the possibility of Implantable contact lens exchange or refractive lens exchange.

Mr Ammar Almasri is a specialist eye surgeon who has been qualified as a doctor for 20 years. Such is his experience and competence in refractive surgery he has been awarded the prestigious "Certification in Refractive Surgery" qualification from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists after undergoing a rigorous assessment of his surgical skills. Holding such a certification means he is a fully accredited laser eye surgeon and one that you can be confident will provide you with the eye sight you have always wanted. There are only 54 surgeons in the UK and Ireland who hold this certification and this is something he is especially proud of achieving.
Mr Ammar Almasri is extremely confident in both Lasek and Lasik with a very high visual success rate and very low retreatment rate (less than 1%). He has been performing laser eye surgery for the past 11 years and has already carried out over 18,000 procedures meaning he is very experienced.
Prior to becoming a refractive surgeon he worked as an Ophthalmologist in various renowned hospitals in the UK such as the Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust. Mr Haralabos Eleftheriadis is regarded as an extremely experienced and respected ophthalmologist and as such has been recognised as a ‘Specialist in ophthalmology’ by the UKs General Medical Council. He is a fully accredited laser eye surgeon and one of only 54 surgeons in the UK and Ireland to have been awarded the prestigious "Certification in Refractive Surgery" qualification from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. This is a tribute to his high level of competence in this field and being certified in such a way means he can be trusted to perform laser eye surgery to the highest possible standard.
Mr Haralabos Eleftheriadis is an extremely experienced doctor having qualified over 20 years ago. Over the last 6 years alone he has performed over 9,500 laser eye surgery procedures in both Lasik and Lasek. Mr Vinod Gupta is one of Ultralase’s and the UK’s most experienced laser eye surgeons and his career has seen him perform over 38,000 refractive procedures. Such is his respect amongst his peers; Mr Vinod Gupta has treated over 70 of his Ultralase colleagues and over 300 relatives and friends of Ultralase staff.

Gaining this certification is an honour that only 54 other surgeons in the UK and Ireland have been skilled enough to receive.

Mr Balasubramaniam Ilango is a fully accredited laser eye surgeon and NHS consultant with over 15 years of medical experience. Mr Gerard Kervick was one of the first surgeons to perform laser eye treatment in the UK nearly a decade ago, giving him invaluable experience in laser eye surgery field. He is a well regarded NHS Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in the Mater hospital, Belfast as well as being Director of Ultralase Ireland. Mr Kervick was awarded a Fellowship in Refractive Eye Surgery at the University of Miami, which ranked top American hospital in a recent survey between doctors.

I had surgery at this clinic around five years ago. I found the staff at the initial consultation very professional and helpful. They take their time to talk you through everything and make sure you are completely happy before deciding whether or not to have the treatment. I had Wavefront treatment and although the thought of the procedure was frightening the whole experience was quick and painless. When I went for the follow up appointment the following day I could already see better than I had been able to for around ten years. My vision continued to get better and I still think its one of the best things I have ever done.

Recommended
 It was such a life changing experience and i would do it all again. I now can see perfectly and i just never thought this could ever become possible. It did seem a little scary at first, but once everything was explained and the procedure was finished i just could not believe i could see. For the first time in my life i could see without lenses and it welt amazing. The first day you have it done it feels strange and sore, but that's obvious since you have had surgery. The day after though everything is much better and the drops do really help.I must admit that i was scared and felt very nervous but i would advise anyone with a high prescription to build up the courage and have it done and i am sure they will never look back. As far as the money is concerned I don't believe anyone can put a price on their eyesight, its all worth it!!!

Having this treatment had always been in the back of my mind, and with my wedding day fast approaching, I decided to book a consultation. Looking back, I think, "why didn't I do this years ago!" I don't feel restricted when carrying out normal everyday tasks; for instance, washing my hair in the shower - I would normally wear my specs!
Alot of staff at the clinic have had the procedure themselves, so understand that you my be anxious. They can answer any questions you may have based on their own experiences. The staff are friendly and very professional.
Overall I would highly recommend this clinic.

Recommended
 Slight pain in left eye for about a week afterwards, but soon healed. Night vision perhaps not as good. I would do it again though.

 I had been thinking about having laser eye surgery for years and after having a consultation at Ultralase I decided to pluck up the courage to have it done!
I can honestly say its the best thing I have ever done and can not recommend the people at Ultralase enough.
