Dr Maria was born in Famagusta on the 19th of June 1967. She is single.
She speaks Greek, English and Slovak fluently.
Education
Dr Maria did her first Degree in medicine, MD, finishing with honours at the Comenius University in Czechoslovakia from 1986-1992.
She then came back to Cyprus to do her pre-registration at Larnaca General Hospital until 1992.
She then went to The General Hospital, Amalia Fleming, in Athens, Greece where she finished her degree in Internal Medicine then went to The Tzanio General Hospital in Pireus, and finalised her specialization in Gastroenterology in 2002.

She then returned to Cyprus and has worked in the private sector since.

Dr Maria is an active member of The Greek Gastroenterology Society,
The Cyprus Gastroenterology Society and The Gallinos Doctor’s Society.
