In 2000, Mr Danjoux a consultant ophthalmic surgeon decided to start a private refractive surgery clinic within an NHS hospital and thus site for eyes was born. His vision was to provide the very best refractive treatment by combining the latest technology with the most highly qualified surgeons.

To this day, site for eyes has continued to be innovative and is regarded as a pioneer in many new developments that emerge. It was the first centre in the North East to offer implant surgery (both Refractive Lens Exchange and Phakic Implants) as an alternative for patients not suitable for laser surgery.

Site for eyes was also the first clinic in the North East to use the revolutionary Multifocal and Accommodating intra-ocular implants to help patients reduce the need for reading glasses.
