Experience:

Mr Erik De Koning is a specialist laser eye surgeon and has performed over 28,000 procedure including both Lasik and Lasek treatment. Mr Erik De Koning is an ophthalmologist with Optical express and as well as all his ophthalmology training he has also undergone additional specialist training in refractive surgery.

Mr Erik De Koning is assessed on an annual basis by the International Medical Advisory Board (IMAB) and attends their specialist conferences twice yearly. He is a regular on the lecture circuit both as speaker and delegate helping further his knowledge in the field of refractive surgery.

Mr Erik De Koning began his Ophthalmology career in 1983 after graduating from University of Utrecht and completing his necessary postgraduate qualifications. He has worked within private laser eye surgery clinics gaining experience in all the different disciplines of refractive surgery. Working in the private sector has helped develop his understanding of the requirements and expectations of laser eye surgery patients.
