Mr. Shahriar Nabili

Experience:

Mr Shahriar Nabili is a fully trained ophthalmologist and has undergone specialist training in the field of refractive surgery. He in an active member of many professional bodies and has a keen interest in research.

Mr Shahriar Nabili graduated from Glasgow University in 1997 gaining his medical degree. He completed his basic and higher training at the West Coast of Scotland hospitals and continued his education at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology, Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow. He currently holds the position of consultant Ophthalmologist at the Lanarkshire hospital.


Mr. Andre Oberholster

Experience:

Mr Andre Oberholster is a fully trained refractive surgeon who has carried out over 23,000 laser eye surgeries to date. He is an ophthalmic surgeon for Optical express and is well regarded in the field of laser eye surgery. He is a member of various professional bodies and his skills and knowledge are assessed annually by the International Medical Advisory Board (IMAB).

Mr Andre Oberholster is South African and graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1984 with a masters degree in Medicine. He spent 2 years at the Military Hospital of Pretoria in the Ophthalmology Department before training to become a general practitioner which took him six years. Mr Andre Oberholster decided to return to ophthalmology and after 5 years of training at University of Stellenbosch he obtained his Masters Degree in Ophthalmology (MMed Ophth) in 1997. Over the past ten years he has spent time working at the Bristol Eye hospital and the Cape Eye Hospital.


Mr. Manek Patel

Experience:

Mr Manek Patel is one of Optical Express’ most experienced refractive surgeons having carried out over 30,000 laser eye surgery procedures. He has undergone specialist refractive laser training and is assessed annually by the International Medical Advisory Board (IMAB). He also attends their conferences twice yearly in a bid to keep abreast of the ever evolving field of refractive surgery.

Mr Manek Patel qualified as a doctor in 1967 from the Grant Medical College in Bombay, India. He graduated as an ophthalmologist in 1972 after which he moved to London, achieving member status of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 1973. Mr Manek Patel furthered his experience working in some of the finest hospitals in London namely Moorfield’s, UCL and St George’s. Mr Patel also worked as a consultant at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Sutton General Hospital and Epsom General Hospital. During his time here, he performed many intra ocular surgery procedures and cataracts operations.

Mr. Patel’s excellence saw him accredited by the Royal College of Ophthalmology in refractive surgery. His vast experience has seen him involved in the training of junior ophthalmic surgeons in Lasik where he has passed on his great knowledge.


Mr. Mr Faqir A Qazi

Experience:

Mr Faqir A Qazi is from Pakistan and graduated from the Khyber Medical College, Peshawar in 1985. Mr Faqir A Qazi then moved to Ireland where he completed his basic Ophthalmological training at Waterford Regional Hospitals and Cork University. In 1994 he obtained his MRCOphth and FRCS (Ophthalmology) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow and Royal College of Ophthalmologists in London. He then continued to work in Ireland as a senior registrar until 1999 when he decided to further his medical career in Canada. During his time in Canada he gained status as a clinical ophthalmic fellow at the University of Toronto in Ontario. Mr. Faqir A Qazi then moved back to England and worked successfully as a NHS consultant gaining valuable experience in the process.

As of 2004 Mr Faqir A Qazi has been on the specialist register for Ophthalmology with the general medical council. He is a very experienced refractive surgeon and has performed in excess of 13,000 refractive procedures which include; Intralase Lasik, standard Lasik, Lasek, Conductive Keratoplasty (CK), Cataract surgery and IOL Implants.
