Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a non surgical cosmetic treatment that involves the injection just below the skin of a mixture of vitamins, anti-oxidants and amino acids which has the effect of improving hydration and boosting collagen production.
Slightly different combinations of chemicals are injected depending on what is being treated. Mesotherapy can treat a wide range of problems and the most common ones are as follows:
- Cellulite: Mesotherapy for cellulite.
- Wrinkles.
- Sagging, ageing skin.
- Frown lines.
Mesotherapy results:
The aim of Mesotherapy is to improve the appearance of the skin to give a younger, fresher and firmer look. Some people use Mesotherapy to reduce the onset of wrinkles and frown lines whereas others just treat them when they occur. Results vary from one individual to another and depend on the extent of the problem that is being treated. An improvement in appearance is normally noticed after one session but it is generally recommended to have multiple treatments to achieve the optimum results.
How many treatments of Mesotherapy do I need to have?
One session typically takes around 20 minutes to complete and it is recommended to have the treatment repeated on 4 – 6 occasions, approximately one week apart.
Does Mesotherapy hurt?
It hurts in the same way as any injection would, although the needle is very fine reducing discomfort.
Mesotherapy cost:
To have the recommended 6 treatment sessions, the cost is likely to be around £600. Read more about the cost of the treatment at the following mesotherapy cost guide
Mesotherapy side effects:
Side effects are rare providing your practitioner is experienced. The following side effects are experienced by some people:
- Swelling of the treated area.
- Bruising at the site of the injection.
- Allergic reaction: This is rare.
