The London Vision Clinic was founded by the world renowned Professor Dan Reinstein, one of the early pioneers of laser eye surgery. He may be someone you recognise as he is the exclusive laser eye surgeon for the television series Extreme makeover UK and 10 Years Younger.

At London vision clinic our aim is to give every patient the best possible vision. We are not intent on seeing as many patients as possible, our aim is to give a smaller number the best possible results. We believe in treating with quality and not quantity.
We specialise in treating patients with high and complicated prescriptions as our state of the art laser equipment enables our screening and testing to be more accurate and our treatment range to be greater. Some laser eye clinics like to cherry pick the quick and easy patients and turn the more complicated ones away. This is not something we do at the London vision clinic. At the London Vision clinic our suitability percentage is much higher than that of other clinics, so if you have been told you are unsuitable by another clinic we may well be able to treat you here.
The London vision clinic has its own laser research team who are continually looking to improve and pioneer new laser eye surgery techniques. Our research team continually test our equipment to ensure it is performing to the highest possible standards.
Our laser consultations are more rigorous and detailed than most other clinics. They are 2-3 times longer in some cases. A typical consultation is around 2 hours and this ensures we can thoroughly check the most appropriate individual treatment plan for you.
Our surgeons have in many cases helped to develop the laser eye surgery technology themselves. Our level of technology used will not be bettered in any other clinic in the UK.
We have developed a revolutionary treatment for people over the age of 40 who need both reading glasses and distance glasses called laser blended vision.

Professor Dan Reinstein is world renowned refractive surgeon and was amongst the first to carry out laser eye surgery. His 18 year career has seen him climb to the very top of his field and he is considered an authority as well as a pioneer in laser eye surgery. Many people may recognise him from the television as he was the exclusive laser eye specialist for the popular series Extreme Makeover UK and 10 Years Younger. Professor Dan Reinstein graduated from the world famous Cambridge University and his postgraduate qualifications include an MA, MB BChir and MD. Such is his experience and expertise he is a board-certified ophthalmologist in the USA and Canada. Professor Dan Reinstein joined the pioneering Cornell University (New York) research group and along with his team developed the Artemis Scanner – the world’s most accurate corneal scanner. Such a scanner has enabled Professor Dan Reinstein to develop safer and more accurate laser eye surgery procedures. He also joined a specialist research team at Meditec and developed the revolutionary MEL 80 laser which is now considered the gold standard laser for refractive surgery. Having built up all this experience and expertise in the field of laser eye surgery Professor Dan Reinstein set out to open the state-of-the-art London vision clinic whose mission statement was quite simply to be the ‘leading laser eye surgery clinic in the world’. The London vision clinic aims to provide first class patient care, unrivalled technology, world class research and most importantly, exceptional surgical skills.

Mr Glenn Carp is one of the UKs most highly trained Lasik eye surgeons and was selected by Professor Dan Reinstein on the basis of his talent in laser eye surgery. Mr Glenn Carp is South African and after qualifying as a doctor in 1996, he soon realised he wanted to specialise in ophthalmology. He spent his early career as an Ophthalmic Senior House Officer and followed this with a year as a Research Officer in Ophthalmology. In 2000 he began his 4 year specialist registrar training at the St Johns Eye Hospital in Johannesburg. This is Africas largest eye hospital and was a great place for him to develop his talent and skills in ophthalmology. Such was his success, he was awarded the much sought after Tetski Patterson Award for clinical research and the Elli Dahan Registrar of the Year award for his outstanding performance Mr Glenn Carp then decided to move to the UK where he has held various positions in some of the UKs leading eye hospitals including The Western Eye Hospital, Maidstone General Hospital, Preston Royal Hospital and the Worcester Royal Hospital. He was also selected for a prestigious one-year fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment Pathology and Surgery at Londons Western Eye Hospital which he successfully completed. It was then that Professor Dan Reinstein decided to offer him an 18-month fellowship in Laser Refractive Surgery at The London Vision Clinic which he gratefully accepted. Following the 18 month period, Professor Dan Reinstein was suitably impressed and consequently offered him the position to be member of the London Vision Clinics surgical team. Since accepting this role he has worked to the highest possible standards in laser eye surgery.

Without doubt having laser eye surgery was the best decision i have ever made. I really wish i had done it years ago but i just kept putting it off. Right from the first minute i felt confident in the london vision clinic and i was certain i was going to get perfect vision. After signing up for the treatment i was proved right as i now no longer need glasses or contact lenses. I totally love my new vision especially when im playing sport.

I am so happy I chose London vision clinic to perform my laser eye surgery. Although the treatment was more expensive than some places I went to I just so confident in the clinic that it justified the price. Prof Reinstein did my treatment and he really was brilliant.
