Laser Eye Surgery - Highest Rated Clinics

Myself and my husband both had laser eye surgery at Optical Express on 13th March 2012 and are very pleased with the results. I had intralease- Lasik and my husband had Wavefront - Lasik.

We both now only need glasses for reading which is a +1.50, so we are now able to just buy our reading glasses over the counter like at BHS or Boots instead of going to the opticians which is great and cheaper!!!

I had Wavefront Lasik treatment at Accuvision on the 17th of October. My prescription was quite small, mostly astigmatism.

I used to suffer from migraine headaches at school as no-one diagnosed my eye sight as a potential cause. Even then, I had multiple prescription changes between optical providers and rather lost confidence in the opticians who saw me. Contact lenses have never been on the cards as I could not bear to go near my eyes, let alone have pieces of plastic in them. I had become quite comfortable with my glasses but they made life difficult in some areas such as photography, golf, kite surfing, rugby etc.

I had been associated with laser vision correction for many years as my brother worked in the industry. He had worked at other clinics prior to Accuvision but never felt completely comfortable in having anyone treat me until now. After he had been there for a while he felt that I was going to be in safe hands, not only for the procedure, but if anything were to go wrong I could be safe in the knowledge that Accuvision would look after me.

Treatment itself was supposed to be quite simple, I was told exactly what to expect so I should have been fine. Nevertheless, after they had finished treating my first eye, I went rather pale and clammy and they decided to give me a few minutes to relax and calm down before proceeding with the second eye. Not that I had any reason to be nervous, there was no pain although some discomfort when they applied suction to the eye to cut the flap. Second eye went fine largely due to the fact that I knew what was coming. Not being in control is what made me apprehensive I think, all in the head. Treatment was quick - given that I took a 5 minute rest, I was in theatre for no more than 15 minutes.

Vision recovered very quickly, quite foggy afterwards – but through the fog I could read the scrolling news bar at the bottom of their television when I came out of theatre. Anyone who has astigmatism can appreciate how your vision blurs when trying to read or see definition. I took the drops as instructed and got on with my life quite comfortably. I was advised not to cycle to work for the first week or go to the gym etc, but am back to doing things as before. I was advised that due to my large pupils etc, that there was a risk my night vision might suffer initially. I have had no such issues during these dark evenings while cycling home.

The one area of my life where I have always had to compromise is photography and wildlife observation. I found it impossible to get a good level of clarity through a pair of binoculars with glasses on and so did without. A week after surgery I went bird-watching in the New Forest, it was only at this stage that I realised how my colleagues were able to see so much more definition than I could.

My eyes were -2.25 and the surgery costed me £1300, i had a voucher of £150 and was accepted on the 2 years instalmment repayment - about £46 per month. Which was the price i wud spend on contact lens every month anyway.

the surgery was done at harley street, london. the surgery itself is painless, and the surgeon very helpful. He will explain to you each and every little process that is about to happen, by the time he is telling you,it already happens, a very reasuring feeling to know that it is normal to see or feel the way you are feeling. the surgery took like 6 minutes, the laser itself took only 1 min for both eyes.

I would definitely recommend friends and families.

I had my eyes corrected in November and here i am 5 months later really enjoying not needing glasses anymore and occasionally kicking myself for not doing it a lot earlier.

It was the need to buy some new glasses that finally spurred me to give Laser correction a proper chance and a couple of my colleagues had used Focus before and recommended them to me. I went in for a consultation on a Thursday and having established I was suitable and there being an option of spreading payments over a 12month no interest plan I was able to book, due to a cancellation, for treatment the following day. I was then back to work on the Monday.

The price is a bit more than some of the larger brands advertise but I was attracted to them as this is their sole focus and if paying a little bit more had the potential for a better result it was one I am happy to pay. Only get one set of eyes!!

The staff were friendly and remembered me each time I went for scheduled checkups which is again the personal touch I was looking for.

I found myself looking for my sunglasses last weekend and then realised they were prescription and I had donated them for recycling. I need to go buy some new ones and so many more choices now!

I recommend anyone thinking about laser surgery shuld go have the consultation and from personal experience can state Focus did a great job looking after me.

As a result of my high myopia (R -7.00, L -7.75), astigmatism (R -1.75, L -1.50), age related presbyopia and thin corneas, I was not able to have LASIK from high street "suppliers". I found Focus via Treatment Saver. They looked at me and I offered blended laser treatment - this is not available from mainstream / conventional clinics and is therefore not discussed. I was able to get everything fixed! I have been so pleased, my daughter has had treatment by Focus in London (rather than locally in Cambridge), and my wife is having treatment there this Summer. Very highly recommended.

Having worn glasses for 8 years and seeing what focus had done for my brothers vision I decided to go ahead and have the surgery. The operation itself was painless and was very comforatble as it was all explained as it was happening. I was given full information and all my questions were awnsered prior to the having the operation. All the staff were very helpfull and were very quick to respond to any queries that I had. The after was hassle free and I have hadno problems since the surgery (now one month gone). I am very pleased with the outcome and would recommend Focus Laser Vision to anyone considering eye surgery.

The entire experience was well managed and thoughtful from consultation to post-operative checkup. the freedom from reliance on glasses has been fantastic. The proceudre itself was pain free and no more stressful than a regular doctors appointment.
