Q.

Vasovagal attack - was I just unlucky?

Immediately after laser-eye surgery 3 weeks ago, I feinted and had a fit (or so it was thought). Admitted to hospital for brain and heart tests. Went to see my GP for checkup as well. Told him my story. He explained I had a VASOVAGAL ATTACK as I was told to stand up and walk to a waiting room immediately after surgery. He is disgusted with them and told me to register a complaint.
The laser company say there is no medical evidence to suggest there is a need to stay prone after surgery rather than stand and walk.
Has anyone else had a similar experience, or am I just unlucky?

I would imagine you were very unlucky. Don't forget the surgeons are highly trained doctors who have specialised in laser eye surgery. If this was a common occurrence I would imagine there would be medical protocol in place to stop it happening. Are you fully recovered now Wayne? And how it your vision?
