night time vision
i had lasik 10 years ago on one eye , however i found the vision disturbing due to starbursts at night when the pupil was dilated...will this be the same if i decide to have ICL on the second eye, or is this procedure less likely to create starbursts ?..my prescription is -9.50 on the second eye and my pupils are very large ...
By jim. on 15th Nov 2010LASIK in 2000 would not have corrected for the loss of laser energy towards the outer parts of the cornea, and so led to night vision problems with large pupils in the dark. Modern lasers will create an optimised profile across the cornea. However, with very high myopia and large pupils, some night vision problems could still occur. For the ICL, if the pupil diameter is larger than the width of the implant , this can also cause night vision problems.
