Q.

I have had Lasek after PRK done 20 years ago

20 years ago I had PRK done on both eyes with amazing results. Gradually the astigmatism came back heavily in my left eye with a minor amount in my right eye. For seberal years i have used glases for driving, reading and using the computer. A month ago I had Lasek done on my left eye. I have a checkup tomorrow but am worried because the vision is very temperamental and can still be quite blurred at times. My main problem is reading and computer as I cannot get my reading/computer glasses altered as the left eye is still healing and would probably be differnt by the time an optician checked my sight and made the glasses. I therefore have to cover up the left eye and do my work using one eye. Is this putting too much starin on my right eye (which still has pretty good distance vision)?

I understand your concern but there is no danger that you will strain / damage your right eye by covering up your left eye. You are probably right not to change your glasses till your left eyes vision has completely settled down following the Lasek surgery. You should check at your appointment tomorrow that your left eye is improving and ask when they expect it to be fully settled. Any more questions feel free to ask by replying in the forum. Let us know how you get on tomorrow. Good luck.
