Can I swim after lasik?

I am considering lasik eye surgery and am a keen swimmer so was just wondering how soon after Lasik could i swim?

It is generally recommended that you do not swim for 2 weeks after Lasik. The reasons for this are the possibility of picking up an infection from the pool water and also the water may irritate your eyes which may result in you rubbing them.
