Mr Ali Mearza is an extremely experienced and skilled laser eye surgeon with a reputation for his commitment to the field of refractive surgery.

He is currently Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Charing Cross Hospital specialising in Cornea, Cataract & Refractive Surgery. Such are his abilities as an ophthalmologist, he is one of a select group of surgeons in the UK who are fellowship trained in both cornea and refractive surgery.

Mr Ali Mearza qualified as a doctor in1996 from the Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School and soon realised his passion for medicine was in the field of ophthalmology. After completing his training in London, he went on to complete a years fellowship in cornea & external eye disease at the world acclaimed Moorfields Eye Hospital and followed this up with an additional one year fellowship in laser refractive eye surgery at the prestigious Emmetropia Mediterranean Eye Institute on the island of Crete.

Mr Ali Mearza has a keen interest in research and is well regarded in academic circles. He has published over 20 medical papers and has presented many of these at various important conferences around the world.
