People who play a lot of computer games or who spend long periods of time in front of a computer screen can find their short sightedness increases, although this is not always the case. This is no different whether you have had Lasik eye surgery or not and playing a lot of computer games would not be a reason not to have Lasik.

I believe he means Computer Games, XBOX, Playstation, ect. And if so, playing those games, does it really make your eyesight worse even after Lasik?

Hi Chris

That's very frustrating for you. Unfortunately sometimes people's eyes do tend to regress more than others. The fact that you had laser eye surgery 12 years ago means there was a higher risk of regression than there is now. A lot of clinics nowadays give a lifetime guarantee but not many were doing that when you had your eyes lasered. I would be interested to hear how you get on if you do decide to have the procedure repeated.

I must be one of the 5% then !
My eyes were both -6.25, after laser surgery 0.0 and -0.5, great, except it didnt last very long at all, both my eyes started to revert and within 3 years were at -0.5,-1.5 after 12 years now they are at -2.0 and -3.0 and still reverting steadily, and no they will not redo them for free, they even charged me £50 to go for a check up !

Hi Samrah,

Most clinics would deem that prescription too high for surgery but the London vision clinic does specialise in high prescriptions and have treated people with similar vision to you. You can make an enquiry with them at the following link if you are interested:

Let me know how you get on if you do go ahead with surgery.

Thanks for the informative article. i'm still pining for technology to improve, but are there any surgeons willing to perform the procedure on those with prescriptions of -14 and -15. if so I'd like to know who they are :)
